In addition to our world class CNC Machining & Fabrication expertise, InsulFab Tools utilizes its in-house Wire EDM Machines to fabricate tight-tolerance tools/fixtures that typically can't be achieved with traditional multi-axis CNC Machining technology.

What is Wire EDM you might be asking? Well, in a nutshell, Wire EDM stands for "Wire Electric Discharge Machining". Without going into much detail on the subject, the Wire EDM manufacturing process is achieved by a process that involves your desired part/component being obtained through the removal of material, such as hardened tool steel, using electrical discharges or sparks. Material removal takes places steadily as a result of rapidly recurring current discharges between two electrodes. Wire EDM machining is typically reserved for hard metals or simply those that would be harder to machine with traditional machining techniques.
